Earthquake Retrofitting Employees of Cal-Quake Construction

CAL-QUAKE Construction Inc. has specialized in earthquake retrofitting in the Los Angeles area for over 18 years. We started out under the name James K. Cross & Associates.

More than nine years ago, as a result of requests from several engineers, we began retrofitting residential homes for earthquake preparedness. At that time, in order to have an easily remembered name, and a name that highlighted our specialty and expertise, we created CAL-QUAKE.

We then partnered with the Structural Engineers Association (SEA). SEA had been commissioned by the City of Los Angeles to create standards for retrofitting of homes. CAL-QUAKE was the only construction company on the committee. Since that time CAL-QUAKE has retrofitted or done correctional foundation work on over 4,000 homes all over Southern and Northern California.
